Bethlehem Walk to Emmaus Event

Friday July 10th and Saturday July 11th

Is it possible that the first ever Emmaus Walk at Bethlem Camp is less than twelve weeks away!  Much has been done in the way of preparation during the past nine months...much still needs to be done as we prayerfully prepare for the first set of Walks:  Walk # 1 (Sept. 24-27 - Men) and Walk # 2 (Nov. 5-8 - Ladies.)  Please take a moment and circle next Saturday, July 11th, for a fun and fruitful day of food and fellowship (and some work, too.)  In lieu of the normal Saturday night Gathering, the steering committee has planned a 'community work session' at Bethlehem Camp.  We will be concentrating on cleaning and setting up four major areas of the camp:

1) Jeter Hall - this will be the dorm for Pilgrims on every Walk (report to George McMurtry)
2) Geci Hall - this will be the dorm for men serving on the support team on each Walk (report to Jim Rudd) - (the
support team ladies will have a newly refurbished house for their use on each Walk)
3) The Prayer Chapel (report to David Money)
4) The Tabernacle (the large open-air pavilion to be used for 'special' Saturday night Walk events...report to Quincey Brown)

Although many plan to bring sleeping bags/bed linens and come on Friday night, most will be coming in the next morning.  We plan to start around 7:30 - 8:00 Saturday morning and work in assigned areas until 1:00.  Quincey and Angie Brown have donated the food and Grady Merritt will have lunch (hamburgers and trimmings) ready for us at 1:00.  Immediately after lunch, we will close with Holy Communion under the large trees in the center of the campus.  We should all be on our way home no later than 2:00/2:30. Here is a list of suggested items to bring:
Please come to this very important work session/gathering.  If you have questions or need directions, feel free to email me or call at one of the numbers listed below.  Also, please forward this or call anyone not on the list above.  We welcome all - especially our friends who have not been to Emmaus.  Have a safe July 4th holiday.
